Top 'Bachelor' Moments: Clare's Raccoon Confidante
If there were an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Making Insecure Women Look Completely Nuts With Creative Editing, The Bachelor franchise would win it every year. While the contestants give producers plenty to work with on their own, sometimes Team Bachelor likes to turn a silly situation into something downright absurd by adding a few creative flourishes. Which brings us to ABC’s No. 3 top Bachelor moment: Clare’s heart-to-heart… with a raccoon. Back in Season 1 of Bachelor in Paradise, hairstylist Clare broke down in tears after… actually, it doesn’t really matter why. The point is that the producers intercut footage of Clare tearfully ranting about not wanting to cause or endure “drama” with shots of a local raccoon doing raccoon things — making it look, of course, like she was pouring her heart out to the critter. The show was so pleased with their joke, they brought both Clare and her raccoon back for Paradise’s second season.
