'The Bachelor': ABC Launches 20 Best Moments of All-Time Countdown

Way back in 2002, ABC launched a little reality TV romance series called The Bachelor. Fourteen years and 3 spin-offs later (RIP, Bachelor Pad), The Bachelor is on its 20th season (!) and ABC is marking the momentous occasion with a two-hour special, The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love, airing (when else?) on Valentine’s Day.

For those of you keeping score, Valentine’s Day is exactly 20 days away, which makes it the perfect time to launch #20DaysOfBachelor, ABC’s countdown of the best moments from The Bachelor franchise from the past 20 seasons.

And coming in at No. 20 is perhaps the most hostile, uncomfortable post-breakup interview in Bachelor history: The ballad of Jake and Vienna. As you may recall, Jake the pilot proposed to Vienna the short-shorts wearing “marketing representative” from Florida (see video below)… but their happiness was all too fleeting. Jake and Vienna broke up three months later — and after Vienna gave an interview to a tabloid calling Jake a “monster,” the duo agreed to sit down with host Chris Harrison on July 5, 2010, to explain what went wrong. Their interview was almost unbearably tense, yet completely mesmerizing. Fortunately, Vienna stormed off set before she and Jake came to blows.

Relive the awkwardness in the clip above, and then nominate your picks for the 20 best Bachelor moments in the comments below. We’ll be counting down all of them right here on Yahoo TV, in what’s sure to be the most dramatic list… EVER.

The Bachelor at 20: A Celebration of Love airs Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. on ABC. The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
