Top 20 'Bachelor' Moments: Jesse Palmer Fumbles a Name
One of the biggest questions fans of The Bachelor have every season is simple: “How does the Bachelor remember all those names during the first rose ceremony?” Well, as today’s No. 9 Best Bachelor Moment reminds us, sometimes he doesn’t. Back in Season 5, Jesse Palmer — former NFL quarterback and also the first Canadian Bachelor — thought he wanted to give a rose to Katie, but in fact he was thinking of another woman, Karen. “That wasn’t the girl I wanted to give it to,” the Bachelor whispers to host Chris Harrison. Of course, Palmer is granted a do-over, and it is as uncomfortable as it sounds.
Because he didn’t want to look like a major jerk on national TV, Palmer let Katie keep her pity rose (”I’ll stay and see how things go,” says Katie gamely, desperately trying to save face), but she only lasted through week three. Talk about throwing a shame spiral! (Ba-dum-bum!)
