King Charles' Rep Reveals His Reaction to Kate Middleton's Cancer Diagnosis

A representative for King Charles is sharing some insight about how the British monarch responded to the news that his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton had also been diagnosed with cancer.
The king's cancer journey was shared with the world back in early February, when Buckingham Palace revealed that the 75-year-old monarch was undergoing treatment for an unspecified type of cancer.
Just over a month later, Middleton personally shared the news of her own cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales, 42, went public with the news on Friday, March 22, following months of fan speculation about her whereabouts and well-being. She finally put an end to the rumors while announcing in a personal video message that she was diagnosed with cancer after getting abdominal surgery in January.
In light of the news, a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace released a statement to express Charles' pride in Prince William's wife for making the brave announcement.
"His Majesty is so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did," the statement, obtained by ABC News read. "Following their time in hospital together, His Majesty has 'remained in the closest contact with his daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.'"
Charles and Kate were both hospitalized at The London Clinic the start of the year, with Kate undergoing a planned abdominal surgery. Charles was receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate before it was later revealed that he had cancer.
"Both Their Majesties 'will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time,'" the statement from Charles' rep concluded.
In the vide released on Friday, the princess told the world that she has started "preventative" chemotherapy treatments, while assuring that she is "well and getting stronger every day."

She also emphasized the family's need for "time, space, and privacy" while she completes her treatment with the support of William and their three young children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
