Prince William is braving the public amid the Photoshop fiasco, not to mention the other associated controversies, surrounding his family right now.

The prince and his wife, Kate Middleton, were reportedly spotted being chauffeured together earlier in the morning on Monday, March 11, though the tint of the windows and the tilt of their heads left the internet wondering if it was really the royal couple.

William was en route to appear with other members of the royal family at the annual Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration at Westminster Abbey, but Kate, who has been evading the public eye left and right, was said to be missing the event for a "private appointment."

Sure enough, in photos from the event uploaded to Instagram by the royals, Middleton was markedly absent. William was accompanied by King Charles' wife Queen Camilla instead.

It marks the second public appearance for the prince in as many weeks amid the public's mounting concern for the princess, with fans worried for her wellbeing ever since she went "missing" following a reported abdominal surgery in January.

Insiders, including the Prince, have all denied that anything is amiss, but between grainy photos reportedly depicting the princess and a poorly photoshopped family portrait—which was so egregiously manipulated even the AP pulled it from circulation—that were seemingly released as proof of life, fans are sure there's much more to the story.

In a follow-up message signed by the princess, the palace claimed that, "like many amateur photographers," she "occasionally experiment[s] with editing."

The statement went on to apologize "for any confusion the family photograph...caused."

Unfortunately for them, the confusion lingers on.
