San Diego Zoo Parrots Give Everyone Inspirational Goals for 2024

If your mood could use a little pick me up and motivation to stay positive, this video that San Diego Zoo shared on Tuesday, January 2nd is just what you need to see! The zoo wanted to spread a little inspiration for 2024, and they picked their "Positivity Parrots" to help do it.

Featured in the video are two gorgeous parrots: a blue macaw and a cockatoo. You can tell from this video that they both have big personalities and can turn any frown upside down. They share some words of wisdom that are always good reminders to hear, and always worth remembering. The last one though was my favorite...which was yours?

In the caption, @San Diego Zoo tells us that these two partying parrots are named Scooter and Goldie. I love how their stellar dance moves mirrored the advice that they shared. The pretty blue macaw, Scooter, had my favorite 2024 inspo, "When in doubt, keep dancing"! Words to live by! And I also enjoyed the Goldie the cockatoo's advice to "Tell the haters to swerve" as well as to "Take deep breaths and don't flip out". Good advice from these two adorable showoffs! One commenter said something that I couldn't agree more with, "I need more positivity parrots in my life." Yes please! Hopefully the zoo will continue to let Scooter and Goldie serve up some more inspiration for us all!

Some San Diego Zoo Favorites

I grew up and lived in Southern California for over 45 years. The San Diego Zoo has always been my favorite (followed closely by the small but amazing Indianapolis Zoo - their orangutan exhibit is amazing, and they have a new baby elephant!) and so I am always happy to share their fun TikToks that showcase their animal residents.

One of my all-time favorites is when they shared this kookaburra singing, it's music to my ears! These capybara pups taking their first swim is a close second because they're absolutely adorable! And I can't forget this animal blooper that they shared, it's too cute!

Not only does the zoo give us a glimpse at animals we might otherwise never get a chance to see, but they also teach us about the animals and why conservation is so important. Like this speed round on beaver anatomy - I learned so much in just a minute! They also introduce us to animals that we've never even heard of, and some of them are fascinating!

I know not everybody is a fan of zoos and keeping wild animals captive, but I know that a lot of the animals are there because they were rescued or are in some way disabled. Not all of them, but some. And I think the work they do to help those animals and teach us all about how to save animals around the planet is commendable.
