Aaron Carter claims his twin sister 'lied over and over' to get restraining order against him extended for one year

Aaron Carter’s nasty battle with his family continues.

The 31-year-old singer was in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday as his twin sister, Angel Conrad, moved to have her temporary restraining order against him extended. She was successful and the new order of protection prohibits him from contacting her and her family — or coming within 100 feet of them — for one year, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"I am devastated by what happened in court today," Aaron post in his Instagram Stories after his court appearance. "My sister lied over and over in an effort to take away my 2nd Amendment rights and she did it on behalf of my brother [Nick Carter] to silence me talking about how he raped and sexually assaulted multiple women. I will abide by the judge's order, but I will not stop speaking on behalf of victims such as Melissa Schuman. I am saddened by my family and what they have done to me. Your lives have broken my heart."

According to ET, the extended domestic violence order of protection means that Carter is unable to possess firearms for another year — until it expires on Nov. 19, 2020. And the judge relaying that information led to Carter becoming very agitated during the proceedings. according to TMZ. He “went nuts in court ... screaming at the judge that he would just go out of state and buy more firepower,” the website reported.

A tweet Carter posted after the proceedings mentioned a move because he “lost everything.” (It’s unclear if he still plans to move to Nova Scotia.)

Carter, who has mental health disorders, including schizophrenia and acute anxiety, and is a recovering addict surrendered multiple guns and sold others after the initial retaining order against him was put in place on Sept. 20. However, it’s been reported Carter may own hundreds more.

Carter has also been feuding with his famous brother Nick Carter, who was granted his own temporary restraining order against Carter in September. So it seemed like an especially defiant move that Carter showed up to court Tuesday accompanied by singer Melissa Schuman, who accused the Backstreet Boys singer of rape in 2017. Nick denied the allegation and no charges were filed against him, but Carter publicly sided with his brother’s accuser and branded his brother a “serial rapist.”

Schuman, formerly of the girl group Dream, tweeted from court about the proceedings, claiming that Carter has surrendered all his guns. She also called Carter “fiery like a lion” and said he was “speaking his truth and holding his ground.” Carter mentioned her in his Instagram Stories statement.

Carter was clearly unhappy as he left court, caught on camera by TMZ, with his attorney talking over him saying no comment.

However, he did celebrate the extended order of protection with Schuman. He posted a photo of them giving each other a high-five and wrote, “Yes!!! No more fake Halo’s for a year. [Temporary restraining order] IN PLACE FOR 1 more year!!”

His social media post led to commenters asking why he was celebrating his sibling being fearful of him.

The original restraining order filed by Angel and Nick in September talked about their sibling’s “increasingly alarming behavior.” Nick also claimed his brother confessed to having thoughts about harming Nick’s then-pregnant wife, Lauren.

Carter — who was recently hospitalized with exhaustion — noted after court that he is headed off on vacation through Thanksgiving.

It remains unclear whether he will be joined by the one family member he isn’t estranged from: his mother, Jane Carter. He recently announced Jane would be managing his career again and the pair appeared together on WeTV’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition to discuss their respective addictions and family issues.
