New for 2016: Fiat
The Fiat 500X subcompact crossover SUV, an all-new model for 2016, joins a burgeoning segment at just the right time. What’s new with the basic 2016 Fiat 500, in its various iterations, will depend on where you buy it. Models for the European market will undergo noticeable changes to the design of the front and rear exterior. American models will show few changes aside from the introduction of several interesting new colors and wheel options, and Chrysler’s Uconnect system.
Following is a list of new or updated features for each 2016 Fiat model:
New colors include Spitfire Orange, Grigio Cenre (light gray), Rhino (dark gray), and Latte Menta (light green). Celeste Blue (light blue), previously only available on the Fiat 500 1957 Edition, is now available throughout the Fiat 500 lineup.
Easy trim level is new an option, slotted between the Pop and the Sport
Chrysler’s Uconnect infotainment system replaces the old TomTom setup on all versions above the Pop
Uconnect system enables hands-free calling via Bluetooth-equipped phones, voice-command control of radio, and optional SiriusXM satellite radio and navigation
Fiat 500 Abarth offers additional exterior colors: Celeste Blue (light blue), Rhino (dark gray), Grigio Cenre (light gray), and Giallo Moderna Perla (Modern Pearl Yellow)
“Second Skin” option package includes vinyl graphics as exterior decorations
Fiat 500C and Fiat 500L will receive updates later in the model year
All-new subcompact crossover SUV
5-passenger capacity and 32 cu. ft. of cargo space with rear seats folded
Includes Chrysler's Uconnect touch-screen interface
Options include heated steering wheel and high-tech safety features
Front-wheel and all-wheel drive are available
Trim levels include Pop, Easy, Trekking, Lounge, and Trekking Plus
All versions except the base Pop get a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 180 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque; engine works with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Pop gets a 1.4-liter engine and manual transmission
