Zoo For All Program reduces admission rates at Buffalo Zoo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Buffalo Zoo announced their new “Zoo for All” program Friday that will go into effect April 15 and will significantly reduce admission rates for low-income families and individuals.

Those with SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer cards can present them for discounted admissions. Additional discounts and free or reduced pricing days will be available throughout the year.

The program is designed to make the Zoo accessible and affordable to everyone. They say a connection with wildlife, a love of nature and an appreciation for conservation is important for all families.

“[The Buffalo Zoo’s] new ‘Zoo For All’ program reinforces their commitment to ensuring that every resident of Buffalo and Erie County, no matter where they come from, is able to learn about and experience animals in our beloved zoo,” said Erie County Legislature Chairwoman April N.M. Baskin. “Our distinguished cultural institutions in Erie County should be accessible to the entire community and it takes steps like the Zoo For All program to ensure accessibility exists.”

The Zoo is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and more information can be found here.
