Hero Surf Instructor Saves a Sloth From a Busy Road in Costa Rica

Everybody loves adorable sloths and knows how extremely slow they are. @Daily Mail posted a video on Tuesday, September 19th of a surf instructor in Costa Rica who noticed a sloth at the edge of a busy road, so he did what any good Samaritan would do and helped him cross it safely.

The surfer runs up behind the sloth and picks it up by the nape of the neck and its bum. As soon as he does, a truck goes speeding past; the surfer saved it in the nick of time! He walks it across the street, and then gently places the sloth in some brush near some trees. The sloth turns around and looks at him and gives a smile, then starts climbing into the trees. It was a happy ending!

What a good guy! It looked like the sloth wasn't exactly thrilled to be held that way, but that little smile that he gave the surfer at the end showed his appreciation.

Commenters had a lot to say about the sweet video. I laughed at @jackjoseph835 who said, "He was about to cross the street in 3 days." @Jess Leigh31 laughed, "He’s all hey thanks that would have taken me all day to cross LOL!" @Trent Desjarlais pointed out, "He's like at the end 'Thanks human'." @JustMeA. added, "Thank goodness for kind humans!"

I'm glad for this happy ending and that @Daily Mail shared the sweet video! I'm sure that in Costa Rica and other places were sloths are abundant that this is a big issue and that people need to pay close attention to the roads. I haven't gotten to visit the rain forests of Costa Rica yet, but I will someday!
