Everyone Rose McGowan has called out over the Harvey Weinstein scandal

The #RoseArmy is on the move, and you can either get on board or face the wrath of Rose McGowan’s 140 characters. The Scream actress, 44, has emerged as a poignant voice following the bombshell reports of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual assaults, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct.

McGowan and Ashley Judd were the only actresses who allowed themselves to be named in the New York Times’ initial account of Weinstein’s payouts to sexual harassment accusers, which had been going on for decades. As the scandal continues to unfold, McGowan has actively supported the many women who have found the courage to share their own stories of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct, while also calling out some of Hollywood’s most prominent figures for their silence.

While McGowan takes a break from tweeting for Friday’s #WomenBoycottTwitter (more on that below), let’s catch up on everyone the Charmed star has name-checked, so far:

Harvey Weinstein: Weinstein paid McGowan a $100,000 settlement in 1997 after an alleged incident in a hotel room at the Sundance Film Festival that occurred when the actress was just 23 years old. A nondisclosure agreement is typically part of a settlement like that, and McGowan hinted at the situation for years but never named names. Now, she’s staying silent no longer. In a serious of tweets to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, the actress stated that “HW” (she confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that the initials stood for Harvey Weinstein) had raped her.

McGowan is now the fourth woman to accuse the producer of rape. A spokesperson for him says, “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.”

Amazon Studios: In McGowan’s tweets to Bezos, she claims that she told the head of Amazon Studios about the alleged incident.

It’s unclear what movie the actress is referring to, as well as her working relationship with Amazon Studios.

Ryan Gosling: The actor, who has worked with Weinstein, said he was “deeply disappointed” in himself “for being so oblivious to these devastating experiences of sexual harassment and abuse.” He added, “I want to add my voice of support for the women who have had the courage to speak out against Harvey Weinstein… He is emblematic of a systemic problem. Men should stand with women and work together until there is real accountability and change.” McGowan was deeply disappointed with that statement.

NBC: The network is under fire for allegedly trying to squash the Weinstein exposé and keep it from coming out. NBC contributor Ronan Farrow ended up reporting the piece for the New Yorker after top executives told him it wouldn’t run on the network. When an NBC affiliate ran a story about how Weinstein “is not doing OK,” McGowan was having none of it.

Ben Affleck: After days of silence, the actor — who became close with Weinstein after winning an Oscar for Good Will Hunting — spoke out, denouncing the producer’s actions. Perhaps he later wished he had said nothing at all. “Ben Affleck f*** off,” McGowan tweeted after his statement. She also claims that the actor admitted to knowing of Weinstein’s behavior years ago.

Bob Weinstein and the Weinstein board: McGowan finds Harvey Weinstein’s brother and business partner, Bob Weinstein, a piece of s***. The actress believes that Bob, along with the entire Weinstein board, knew about Harvey’s behavior, which had allegedly gone on for decades. Because of that, the actress has called on the entire board to resign.

Kurt Schlichter: McGowan fired back at the conservative columnist who thought that the women who were abused by Weinstein should have spoken up sooner. Most of what she tweeted is NSFW, but here’s a taste:

Schlichter ended up blocking her, but she told him he was still on the #RoseArmy list.

Twitter: It seems folks can’t get enough of McGowan’s tweets … except for Twitter itself. After she put plenty of people on blast, her account was temporarily suspended for 12 hours. The company claimed it was because she had violated their policy of posting someone’s private phone number. (Cough, what about when Donald Trump did that and there were no repercussions?) McGowan and her army of followers clapped back at Twitter with #WomenBoycottTwitter on Oct. 13 and stayed off the social media platform for the day.

Men in Hollywood doing nothing: For McGowan, the absolute worst offenders — aside from alleged predators — are those doing and saying nothing. Specifically, the men. In the eyes of the actress, statements are not enough, and her peers need to take action.
