The $20 Magnetic Find That Will Declutter Your Kitchen Drawer in an Instant (It’s So Smart!)
I like to keep my kitchen pretty minimal — I hate digging in cabinets or rummaging through drawers to find the tools I need, or having to decide which gadget is best for the job. When it comes to my kitchen tools, the “best, favorite, necessary” rule is one that keeps kitchen clutter (from subpar tools or excess) from taking over. Because I already have my arsenal of go-to kitchen tools, it isn’t too often that I get wowed by shiny new cooking gadgets — but a recent gift from my sister was a surprise exception.

She bought me a set of nesting magnetic measuring spoons that are so very well-thought-out that I’m still in awe every time I use them! I love kitchen tools that are designed to save time, energy, and space, and these check off every box. Plus they’re so pretty!
The measuring spoon set includes eight stainless steel spoons: 1 tablespoon, 1/2 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 3/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon, 1/8 teaspoon, and a leveler. The spoons are magnetic, so they nest into each other perfectly and stay nested, which means they can be stored in a nice, neat, compact bundle that stays together and doesn’t get tangled with anything else. They’re easy to find in my drawer and don’t take up too much space, unlike most measuring tools I’ve had in the past.
In contrast to measuring spoon sets that are attached to a ring, it’s so nice to be able to grab the whole set without them flopping around everywhere, and to be able to use them one at a time and still stash them together easily. (While the Amazon description notes that the magnet is strong enough to hold the spoons on the fridge, it didn’t work for me. But I’d rather keep them in a drawer away from dust, dirt, and germs anyway.)
In addition to being magnetic, the spoons are dual-sided. Each size has a round end and an oval end of the same measurement; the round end is perfect for straight-forward scooping, and the oval end fits easily into the more narrow openings of spice jars. The dual ends also allow you to use each spoon twice as you’re cooking and baking, even if one end is dirty. This means you don’t have to wash your measuring spoons while you’re cooking, and you don’t need to keep an extra set on hand for these scenarios.
The vibrant colors of the rainbow measuring spoons — in addition to making me happy every time I look at them — also make me more efficient in the kitchen. Rather than having to double-check the measurement on measuring spoons that are the same color, I learn what color the teaspoon is, for example, and I’m able to grab and use it quickly. I appreciate every little thing that streamlines tasks in the kitchen, and these color-coded spoons are definitely one of them.
