2017 Cadillac XT5 Priced from $39,990

Motor Authority

Cadillac has released pricing for its all-new 2017 XT5 crossover. The XT5, which replaces the SRX in Cadillac's lineup, will start at $39,990 when it goes on sale in April. That figure includes a $995 destination charge and puts the XT5 a couple thousand dollars less than its main competitors, the Lexus RX and Audi Q5.

Four models will be offered. Cadillac has announced Luxury, Premium Luxury, and line-topping Platinum models. Our guess is the base model will be called, well, base. The Platinum model will start at $63,495, once again including destination.

All-wheel drive will be optional on Luxury and Premium Luxury models and standard on the Platinum. This “twin clutch” all-wheel drive system can transfer up to 100 percent of available torque to either axle, and it can move the torque side to side on the rear axle. The system also has a disconnect feature for improved efficiency during cruising.

The Platinum model will also come with Cadillac's new Rear Camera Mirror system that uses a camera to project the view behind on the rearview mirror and offers three times the field of vision.
