Caitlyn Jenner & Kris Jenner Own the Same Tom Ford Dress
Ever since Caitlyn Jenner graced the cover of Vanity Fair, designers have been jumping to work with her. In the corresponding spread, she wore Zac Posen and Donna Karan. On a recent trip to New York, the reality star was spotted in Alexander Wang and Hervé Leger. Donatella Versace dressed her in an Atelier Versace number for the ESPYS where the former athlete was recognized with Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. And, of course, her closet’s filled with even more.
On the premiere of I Am Cait on Sunday, she showed off her expanding wardrobe. When Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West were visiting with Caitlyn at her Malibu home, Kim, the famous family’s world-renowned fashionista, was given a private tour. The 65-year-old revealed that, since the special with Diane Sawyer aired in April, she’s received gifts from the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg—she’s actually wearing a wrap dress by the designer in the scene—and even Tom Ford.
Caitlyn picked up a Tom Ford dress she’s particularly fond of and showed it off to Kim. But instead of praising her former stepparent, Kim said, curtly, “Mom has that.” But Caitlyn, who has handled the past few months in the spotlight announcing her transition into becoming a woman with bravery and a sense of humor, replied with a laugh, "So it will be like a ‘Who Wore It Better?’“ (a scenario that her former-wife, Kris Jenner, who has matched with Justin Bieber, Derek Zoolander, and daughter Kim, is already very familiar with.)
While Kris has the Tom Ford Zip Detail Pencil Dress (it retailed for about $3,500 but is sold out) in chocolate brown, and Caitlyn’s is black, the pair still plotted for the exes to be caught in a situation when they’d be in the same room wearing the same thing. "You should just come over at a time when I know she’s there and I’ll just pick out an outfit for her to wear and I’ll say, ‘Oh my god, I’m gonna take you to dinner. You should wear this.’ And you’ll stop by,” Kim said.
“That is funny,” Caitlyn responded. But, because she already knows how to play the game, she added: “I better wear it before she does!”
