Young woman disappears on hike with mother in Angeles National Forest area

The search for a 21-year-old woman who disappeared on a hike with her mother in the Angeles National Forest area will resume Monday, officials said.

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Julia Jiayin Li was last seen at Bailey Canyon Wilderness Park in Sierra Madre around 4 p.m.

Li’s mother reported her missing after the two split up during a hike and the young woman did not return to meet at their car at a predetermined time.

“Miss Li is medication dependent and her family is concerned for her well-being,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.

Li was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt and orange shorts.

She was described as standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Li also wears glasses, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
