Planned Parenthood to open Pittsburg clinic

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Planned Parenthood of Great Plains has announced they’re opening a clinic in Pittsburg.

We’ve learned the Pittsburg Health Center will provide services including abortion, contraception, the morning after pill, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, and pregnancy testing and services.

“At a time when access to critical reproductive health care is under threat, we are proud to expand our network to serve the needs of patients in this community and beyond,” said Emily Wales, Planned Parenthood Great Plains President in a statement.

Planned Parenthood says they hope to meet a need for services in Crawford County with an estimated 37% of women in need of publicly funded contraception.

In the 2022 election, 55% of Crawford County voters supported keeping abortion legal in Kansas.
