Pickup truck driver dies in collision with tractor-trailer in Chesterfield County: HP

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person died Thursday evening in a two-vehicle traffic wreck, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at 6:29 p.m. about 1.5 miles south of McBee on S.C. 151 at Spraught Lane.

Both vehicles traveled south on the highway when the 1995 Volvo tractor-trailer attempted to turn right when a Chevrolet pickup truck hit it from behind.

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. SCHP did not say if the tractor-trailer driver suffered any injuries. SCHP said the Chesterfield County Coroner’s office may release more information about the wreck after their investigation.
