New-vehicle buyers strongly value reliability, making it one of the most important considerations when selecting a specific make and model, according to J.D. Power research. To help car buyers determine which luxury sedans are the most dependable, J.D. Power surveys thousands of new- and used-car owners in conducting the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and Initial Quality Study (IQS), gathering information related to vehicle dependability, quality, and overall appeal, among others. From this data, Power Circle Ratings are calculated and summarize how reliable new models are expected to be in the future.

Listed on the pages that follow, in alphabetical order, are the top-rated luxury sedans priced under $60,000 in terms of predicted reliability, according to J.D. Power. The ratings reflect a model’s prediction relative to its direct competitors, and are not indicative of how it might perform compared to models in different market segments. Also, models that are new to the market reflect historical performance of that brand in order to make an accurate reliability prediction.
