Jaguar announced today at the New York International Auto Show a 2018 mid-year refresh for the F-Type two-door sports coupe. Other than a few cosmetic changes, not much has changed. But there is one significant piece of news: Jaguar will now offer the F-Type with a four-cylinder engine.

For 2018, the F-Type will offer six different engine choices. The base F-Type will retain its available 340-horsepower supercharged V6, with the 380-horsepower F-Type R-Dynamic (formerly called the F-Type S) representing the next rung on the ladder. Also returning for 2018 is the mid-range 400 Sport, the 550-horsepower V8-powered F-Type R, and the top-tier 575-horse SVR.

The new four-cylinder is a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit making 296 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Strangely, the four-cylinder F-Type will only be available with an 8-speed automatic transmission, meaning the 340-horsepower F-Type S remains the only model available with a six-speed manual.

The four-cylinder F-Type has a curb weight of 3360 pounds, a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph. Fuel efficiency has yet to be disclosed for the U.S. market, but we're sure the four-banger will be the most efficient F-Type yet.

Pricing start at $59,900 plus a $995 destination charge. If you're looking for Jaguar style with minimal penalty at the pump, perhaps the F-Type is for you.
