Driver strikes Kohl's sign in Auburn, flipping SUV after second driver fails to yield, police say

May 13—AUBURN — The Saturday afternoon crash on Mt. Auburn Avenue, which damaged the Turner Street Center sign and left a vehicle on its roof, was caused by a failure to yield, according to police.

Auburn Police Lt. Barry Schmieks said Glenda Drapeau, 79, of Otisfield was operating her 2016 Nissan early in the afternoon Saturday near 105 Mt. Auburn Ave. when she failed to yield to a 2024 Hyundai operated by Fabricio Cristovao, 18, of Auburn.

A witness of the crash said the Nissan ran a stop sign and hit the Hyundai causing it to roll over and slide into the sign.

No one was injured in the crash and charges were not filed, Schmieks said.
