Clare Balding has reacted to Greg James' Bake Off attempt, as she inspired his showstopper biscuit.

Tonight's (April 7) episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer saw Dermot O'Leary, Mel B and Fern Brady brave the tent alongside James.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ attempted to replicate the face of his "celebrity doppelganger" and it didn't got unnoticed by the presenter.

Taking to X, Balding commended James, writing: "Can't believe Paul Hollywood ate my eye… top work @gregjames. You may not win #GBBO but you've won my heart. #SU2C"

"There's no greater tribute to one of our finest broadcasters, than making her face out of biscuits," stated James, as he started baking.

He proudly presented his biscuit to the judges, explaining: "The base and her head is lemon shortbread, and then there's buttercream lemon icing. And then on top of that, her features are made out of Italian ricciarelli biscuit"

"I think you should send it to her," joked judge Paul Hollywood.

"I think she might call the police," James replied.

Despite this, judge Prue Leith praised James' "wonderful" biscuit, noting his "ambitious" use of two biscuits.

"The eyes might be..." James trailed off. "Better?" suggested Hollywood, as he plucked one of the biscuit eyes off the face.

The eyeball was given Hollywood's seal of approval, as he noted "It's got more of a crunch to it."

In response to Balding's social media post, one follower asked: "Did you know about it before tonight? That would be a surprise to watch, if not!" Another joked: "Can you see inside his stomach now Clare?"

Elsewhere in the show, Dermot won the coveted apron, as he wowed with all three tasks in the tent.

The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off airs on Sunday nights on Channel 4.
