This Is the Best Color for the Original Viper

From Road & Track

If you think of the original Dodge Viper, odds are the image in your head has that car painted red. It was the color the car debuted in as a concept, and the color the original car was marketed in with ads and brochures. For the first year of production, Viper Red was the only color you could get. But in later years, there were a handful of other colors available to buyers, the best of which might be this stunning dark green.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

Aside from Viper Red, the 1993-1995 Viper RT/10 could be optioned in Viper Black, Dandelion Yellow, and this color, Emerald Green. One of just 440 first-gen green cars produced, it's also optioned with the wonderfully matching tan leather interior. Honestly, this might be the best color combo for the Viper.

Like any other RT/10, you get a set of extremely '90s three-spoke wheels, a massive 8.0-liter V10 under the hood, and a manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. This car also benefits from a brand new set of tires (a delicacy in the Viper world since finding rubber in the right size is next to impossible), and a fresh set of drivetrain fluids.

With a color combination like this and just 19,214 miles on the clock, we suspect this Viper will fetch a pretty penny on Bring a Trailer. The high bid is currently $11,000, and there's still seven days left to bid.
