NYC Animal Rescue’s Mission To Find a Forever Home for Cute Pit Bull Is Heartwarming

It's always heartbreaking to see more and more stray animals, whether it's a dog or a cat, end up in shelters because they were found tied to a bench or aimlessly wandering the streets. And this is the case in many major cities, such as New York City.

The New York City rescue organization Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) shared their newest addition, a female pit bull named Bella, in a video posted on October 15, and she's up for adoption!

Look at that smile!

As Bella was saying, "More treats, please?"

The ACC is the largest animal welfare organization in New York City and is responsible for sheltering and caring for a wide variety of animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, and other small animals. This organization plays a significant role in the city's efforts to address animal welfare and public safety.

As mentioned in the video, Bella was found wandering the streets alone by a kind New York City police officer who brought her to ACC.

That's why everyone calls the New York Police Department "New York's Finest".

Unfortunately, Bella has been at the shelter for three months already and is still waiting to be adopted into her forever home.

Pit bulls often face challenges when it comes to adoption due to a combination of factors, including misconceptions, stereotypes, and breed-specific legislation.

They have unfairly acquired a reputation for being aggressive and dangerous due to misconceptions and media portrayals. These stereotypes can make people hesitant to adopt them, despite the fact that many pit bulls are friendly, affectionate, and well-behaved pets, just like Bella.

That being said, the ACC offers animal adoption services, allowing individuals and families to adopt cats, dogs, and other pets, as they work to match animals with suitable adopters and provide resources to help new pet owners care for their pets responsibly.

For the month of October, the ACC will waive all the adoption fees in hopes of finding forever homes for their dogs sooner, especially pit bulls.

If you're in the New York area and want to adopt Bella, you can fill out an application directly here.

We hope Bella will find a loving forever home before the holidays approach.
