Shy Cat in San Diego Who Keeps Getting Passed Over Tugs at the Heartstrings

It's always heartwarming to hear stories about animals in need, whether it's a cat or a dog. However, sometimes animals that are shy are overlooked, as they may be suspected of being skittish.

TikToker @fureverfosterfriends, who helps find a forever home for furry friends, shared a video, posted on October 11, of a shy cat named Kevin, who's the sweetest and still up for adoption. Let's find out more!

Aw, would you look at how sweet and playful he is?

Shy cats, just like Kevin, often need time to adjust to a new environment. Patience and a cat-friendly and secure environment are certainly key here.

When I adopted my cat Max from my friend, he first spent hours in the shower, then the closet, and eventually came out at night to explore, until he felt safe enough to come out during the day to explore further.

Now, Max is still a bit shy around strangers, but he is certainly more curious and accepting of new people.

That being said, spend time with the cat you'd like to adopt, but do so calmly and without forcing interaction. Treats and toys are great tools to build trust and encourage play. Gradually, they may become more comfortable around you.

It's also important that your home is cat-friendly, with cozy spots for it to hide, climb, and explore. This will help it feel secure and reduce its shyness.

Remember that adopting a cat can be a rewarding experience, as they often form strong bonds with their caregivers once they come out of their shell.

It's important to approach the situation with patience, understanding, and a commitment to providing a loving and stable home for cats that are just a little more shy at first.
