Drew Barrymore Reveals the A-Lister Who Was ‘So Amazing’ to Her Daughters

Meeting your hero can go one of two ways — but luckily for Drew Barrymore’s daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 9, it went “amazing” for them. These two got to meet an A-list singer recently, and it was everything they ever imagined.

On Thursday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the host shared that her and her daughters got to meet Ariana Grande this month. “We went … to Saturday Night Live to watch her perform and we ended up getting to hang out with her and talk with her,” Barrymore said, per PEOPLE. The 50 First Dates star said that the three of them “all sat around chit-chatting and talking,” which was “the biggest gift.”

“She is so kind, so nice, so present [and] was so amazing to my girls,” Barrymore continued. “My daughters and I are on such a high. She went from being like our idol to our model and now I know I need to listen to her nonna,” Barrymore quipped, referencing the fact that Grande’s 98-year-old grandmother is on her new song, “Ordinary Things” (and is the senior-most artist to have ever appeared on the Billboard Hot 100).

That must have been such an awesome experience! We love that for Barrymore’s daughters.

Last May, Barrymore took her daughters to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour in New Jersey. “@taylorswift I cried so hard when you sang welcome to NEW YORK,” she captioned a post from the concert. “I moved here not knowing where my life was going. And I actually found myself so happy in this chapter.”

“I also cried watching my daughters and cousin Sadie watch and love and sing to someone so admirable,” she continued. “YOU. I LOVE YOU TAYLOR SWIFT!!!!!!!! You are the role model all of us girls and women need. Thank you for one of the best nights of our lives. We are so lucky to have seen your show. Your oh so giving 3 hour show.”

She added, “Ps we listen to you on vinyl every morning to get ready for our day. You transcend. And make life beautiful.”

Being Drew Barrymore’s daughters means you get plenty of opportunities to meet your idols (and see them perform live!), but once, Olive and Frankie accidentally ran into someone famous: Victoria Beckham and her daughter Harper Seven.

“On a personal level, I’d had both my daughters, Olive and Frankie, and I went to London and it was the last film I made,” she told the fashion designer in an Oct. 2022 episode of her talk show. “And one day my daughter went to a park, and you know we didn’t know anybody there, and she made a friend, and I was so excited that she made a friend … it turned out to be your daughter Harper.”

“I have to say Harper’s always loved playing with your girls because they’re such adorable little girls,” Beckham responded. “And Harper has really enjoyed getting to know your girls.”
