Clip: Take a Look at the Newest Wave Pool Opening Soon in Sydney
Wave pools are a modern luxury popping up everywhere.
Arizona? Check. Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Nashville, Phoenix, Los Cabos, Los Angeles, and New York? Check. Abu Dhabi? Yep. England? Sure thing.
Surprisingly, Australia only has two wave pools fully up and running (sort of), but soon a third will be open for business. The clip below, offers a sneak peak at URBNSURF Sydney.

The clip above comes from 7News Australia, who captioned it:
"It’s a sight that’ll get Western Sydney’s avid surfers excited, the new URBNSURF wave park taking shape."
The footage was shot from 7News' helicopter and shows a partially full wave pool which is set to open next month.
According to URBNSURF:
"Surfing is a sport actively enjoyed by more than 200,000 Sydney residents. It has a higher participation rate in NSW than Rugby League (2x), Basketball, Netball, Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Volleyball, AFL, Yoga and Fishing.
"URBNSURF Sydney has been designed to use the latest version of the Wavegarden Cove technology, and will deliver high quality, authentic surfing waves to suit all abilities.
"With a north-south lagoon orientation, URBNSURF Sydney has been designed to suit prevailing wind conditions. LED lagoon lighting means you can surf night and day. The facility will also feature sustainable design elements, renewable energy and water saving systems, in keeping with Sydney Olympic Park’s strong environmental sustainability ethos."
Like most wave pools, this one will feature a rooftop bar and beach club, cabanas, skate ramps, swimming pools, kids playground, a surf shop, surf lessons, and more.
According to the story mentioned above, Australia's also waiting on a $100 million wave pool in Perth, one on the Gold Coast, and two on the Sunshine Coast.
