Arizona's First Surf Park Will Be Pumping Next Spring

Surfing in Arizona used to seem as likely as life on Mars.

But by the spring of 2024, you’ll be able to catch waves in The Grand Canyon State.

Yep, you read that right. Earlier this year we reported the construction of Revel Surf's Cannon Beach, a 37-acre surf park located east of Phoenix in Mesa. Now that the park's announced its spring launch, start thinking about booking a trip.

Captioning the post, Revel Surf wrote:

"Spring 24 ⚡️⚡️⚡ We are working every day to get you guys surfing by next spring 🙌🙏🤙"

Cannon Beach claims its the “the intersection of lifestyle and adrenaline.”

According to its website, the luxe surf park will offer a 3.3-acre surf lagoon for all skill levels offering traveling and stationary waves.

And there’s more. It’ll also have a four-story hotel, office buildings, a co-working space, gym, dining, shopping, and various community spaces such as fire pits, water features, cabanas, splash pads, and outdoor games.

Basically, it'll be one-stop shop for a surfing vacation.

Wow. Are surf trips with cold showers, mosquito nets, and non-potable water even a thing anymore?

Former pro surfer and X Games gold medalist Shane Beschen is working with the park and has given it the thumbs up. The clip above shows the regular footer getting barreled at Cannon Beach during a recent testing session.

“Our wave technology and vision for this project will be like nothing you have seen in the market,” he said.
