Chevy Chase's Daughter Emily Shuts Down Media Reports of 'Imaginary' Family Member

Chevy Chase’s youngest daughter, Emily, seems to be shutting down some fake news concerning her family.

The 35-year-old’s proud dad announced her pregnancy to his fans over the weekend, gushing over his excitement to become a grandfather at 80 years old, but several outlets seem to have made a mistake about the family hierarchy while reporting on the exciting news.

According to the mom-to-be’s Instagram Stories, uploaded on Sunday, March 17, her widely reported half-brother Bryan Perkins does not exist. In a screenshot of her pregnancy announcement from People, she underlined his name, listed as one of the National Lampoon's Vacation alum's four children, and questioned who he is and where he came from.

"Beyond hilarious that we have a mysterious, fake half brother who is routinely reported as being part of the family," she wrote over the photo. "Who IS he? Where did this amazing rumor start? Why isn't his last name Chase?"

"❤️ u imaginary Bryan," she added in jest.

It's unclear where the connection first came into play. Even Google lists Perkins as the comedian's oldest child when searching the phrase "Chevy Chase kids," but any article featuring his name contains little to no information about his mother or his life, and he's never made an appearance on his so-called dad's social media accounts, unlike the rest of Chevy's family.

Chase shares Emily, along with 39-year-old Caley and 41-year-old Cydney, with his third wife, Jayni.

Parade has reached out to Chevy’s representatives for clarification about his alleged son.
