Mills Record Company

Mills Record Company has celebrated Record Store Day for 11 years with different deals and giveaways. This year is no different.

The store will offer many free items, including two $100 credits to be used in-store (some exclusions may apply), tote bags with Record Store Day ‘swag’ for the first 15 customers and free tickets to various local concerts and live performances.

On social media, Mills Record Company has promoted used and rare record drops, as well as various staff picks for the holiday. But the most notable items the store has promoted are limited edition signed letters from Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ album released on Friday.

Josey Records

Josey Records is also offering in-store deals to customers on Record Store Day.

Similar to Mills Record Company, Josey Records is giving customers a chance to win a free pair of tickets to multiple concerts at the front counter, and it will hold a raffle for limited Sabrina Carpenter or Chapell Roan singles.

The shop will also offer live music from DJs and bands, vintage and tour t-shirt drops, Paramore shirt sales (that also come with a poster) and more.

Celebrated by independently-owned record stores, it is a way to connect those who make up these local shops and acknowledge their impact on communities and music.

Although there are only three shops listed, many others in the Kansas City metro have deals on unique and valuable records. If you want to see the list of other shops in the area celebrating this holiday, click here.
