Pearls, bow-shaped charms and delicate, rope-textured gold come together in a brand new limited-edition jewelry collection from Catbird and J. Crew. The capsule, which marks the first collaboration between the two beloved New York City-founded brands, launched Wednesday morning — just in time for Mother’s Day.

The gift-worthy collab fuses Catbird’s signature charms with the nautical spirit of J. Crew, featuring standout, affordable pieces such as the Rope Bow and Pearl Earrings ($148 apiece), an Anchor Lariat Necklace ($348) and dozens of new charms (like this adorable Sailor Heart Mom Charm) that can loop onto chains for layering.

“We’re so thrilled to be back for another collaboration with J.Crew (our first one was in 2014!),” Leigh Plesnner, creative director of Catbird, said in a statement, explaining that the J.Crew team prepared a dossier full of vintage charms which the Catbird design team then fused with inspiration drawn from J. Crew’s ’90s catalogues and the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where Catbird’s own headquarters and jewelry studio is based.

“We played with heart and anchors and bows in twisted rope finishes – all made with 100% recycled 14k gold, of course!” she continue. “And since we’re New Yorkers, there’s a sailboat charm that is an homage to model miniature toy boats in Central Park. We think of our jewelry as ‘put it on, never take it off pieces that become a part of you’, and J.Crew’s clothing has a similar spirit of becoming one’s uniform.”

Catbird has released several popular collections over the past few months, including a “Bite The Hand” capsule with Boygenius inspired by the band’s matching tattoos, and their more recent collaboration with comedian Jenny Slate, inspired by “motherhood and childhood memories.”
