Ben Gravy Recalls Getting Saved by Jet Ski During Heaviest Wipeout Ever (Watch)

In the last few weeks, self-proclaimed novelty wave surfer Ben Gravy has been chasing surf spawned by Hurricane Lee all over the East Coast.

Before that, he spent the summer traveling around Europe scoring weird waves in places like Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and even Belgium.

Perhaps his biggest claim to fame is that he's already surfed all 50 states in the U.S. and is on a mission to surf every European country.

Yesterday, Gravy posted the clip above recalling his "biggest wipeout ever!"

He says he was sent "flying to the bottom" so far it was the "deepest underwater" he'd been in his life."

He even tried to inflate his vest.

But he lived to tell the tale and like any surfer, is stoked to have a good wipeout story.

"Looking back I'm a hundred percent amped I went on that wave," he says.

Of course, viewers had fun in the comments:

"I just rewatched the gnarly guys' paddle sesh last night, getting hyped for big wave season in NorCal! Whata badass"

"You did have a good line. If the tide was a bit lower, guarantee you would’ve came out"

"You would be faster if you got a damn hair cut your freaking hippie... seriously though, that was a bomb, nicely done"

"Hurricane Gloria 1985:” The Poles” Jax Fl was the spin cycle I will never forget!!! Got pitched from top to bottom on a bomb. While being held down I immediately grabbed my leash, fed it through my fingers where your board is always at the top of the water. Saved my life !!!"
