Asher House Takes in Massive Amount of Dogs to Help Overcrowded Shelters in California

The Asher House, located in Estacada, near Portland, Oregon, is a non-profit dog sanctuary dedicated to rescuing animals and providing them with a lifetime of comfort, love and adventure. If you ever want your faith in humanity absolutely restored, just watch any of their amazing videos which shows how dedicated they are to helping shelter dogs.

One of these videos was uploaded a few days ago, which shows the Asher House team unloading a huge transport of shelter dogs all the way from California to help overcrowded shelters there.

Lee Asher, the founder of Asher House,  explains in the video that "there are more dogs in shelters now then ever before, you are hearing this from everyone, especially in California."

That is absolutely true, shelter overcrowding is a huge problem and it's so wonderful Asher House stepped in to help.

In the video you can see all the pups that were welcomed to Asher House and some are little puppies and some are full grown pups in need of medical attention and badly in need of grooming, like those Sheepdogs or Sheepdog mixes named Mickie and Minnie! You can't help but smile at Lee Asher's enthusiasm and excitement over these dogs, it's just so hilariously joyous.

People in the comments agree and one person says, "Every time I see "rescue day" I see that the life you have is the life that was carved out for you. Many, many happy years ahead." Another added, "Happiness is seeing dogs welcomed with open arms, irrespective of age, size or state of health. Thank you."

This is just so heartwarming to see, and almost anyone can make a difference in lives of animals in need.

Animals shelters are overcrowded and suffering a lack of volunteers and any animal lover can help a shelter in their area.

Find the local animal shelter or Humane Society in your area and make a monetary donation.

If you don't wish to make a monetary donation to your local animal shelter, there are so many other ways you are needed!

Shelters are usually in need of donations like old towels, blankets, unused cleaning products and pet supplies like cat litter.

Most shelters need volunteers for just about anything you can think of. You can clean cages, you can volunteer to walk dogs, and with kitten season here, a lot of shelters need foster homes willing to bottle feed abandoned kittens.

Some shelters have programs where you can take dogs on field trips or for over night slumber parties so they can have human socialization.

Contact your local Humane Society or animal rescue to find out how you can help.
