Adorable Rescue Panda Pups Spotlight Pet Adoption
A lot of potential pet adopters have an idea of a specific breed of dog in mind when they start their search to add a canine companion to their family.
One dog owner out of North Texas knew exactly what she wanted, and her heartwarming story proves that your own dream dog may be at your local shelter.
The owner of the gorgeous dog above explained how she obtained them through rescue work and fostering, and there couldn't be a better way of adding a fur baby to your family.

People Magazine had an exclusive interview with Dallas and Panda's owner, Carly D'Eliseo, who told the outlet, "You can find your dream dog at a shelter if you just give them a chance," she says. "I want everyone to be able to feel the type of love you can receive from a rescue dog — there really isn't anything like it!"
Here's how you can find your dream pet at a shelter.
One of the very best things you can do while you are hunting for your dream pet, whether that be a particular breed or a dog or cat with specific coloring is to volunteer. Do anything you can to help, whether that be fostering, making monthly donations, or volunteering to do anything from walking dogs, cleaning out kennels or washing pet bedding and towels.
Shelters love nothing more than matching the perfect family to their perfect pet, and if you can help as much as possible and establish relationships with shelter workers they'd probably be more than thrilled to call you the second that purebred pup comes in or a litter of kittens is rescued from a backyard breeder.
You can also utilize social media, tell your contacts what you're looking for and you never know when someone knows someone who knows someone who needs to re-home their English Bulldog or Siamese cat and would love to find the person who has wanted one forever.
Check with your local breed specific rescues. There are plenty of rescues out there who specialize in specific breeds and you can get on a waiting list and fill out an application to be considered for adoption.
Most importantly, be patient. You may desperately want a German Shepherd, and you may have to wait months or even years to find your dream dog. It also helps to keep an open mind, you may think you only want a Shih-Tzu but a precious Shih-Tzu mix may end up being the best dog you could ever hope for.
There are so many dogs and cats at shelters across the United States just waiting for a forever family to give them all the love and care they deserve. You'd be surprised at how many of these shelter pets came from breeders or people who had to have a specific breed only to end up surrendering them. With some patience and dedication and service to these shelters you can probably find the perfect pet you have always wanted.
