Indianapolis Animal Shelter Makes Desperate Plea for Volunteers to Help Their Animals

Indy Animal Care Services recently uploaded a video which is the sad reality of what so many animal shelters have been experiencing lately. Laundry piling up, equipment breaking, an influx of surrendered animals and not enough time, money or volunteers to help fix the situation.

Watch the following clip posted by @Iacsanimals. Hopefully it will inspire you to help this shelter or an animal shelter in your own city.

People in the comments are rightfully upset over what this shelter is going through, and @Jessica comments, "Boost. This is so sad. All these poor animals and the workers. I really hope you guys get help." @Jennifer adds, "Our shelter too, it’s awful. There is no room, none. Community keeps dumping more and not helping." @Meems replies, "My goodness!! What you’re doing is amazing. I hope you get flooded with help!" @Stef adds, "This is so sad. it’s like this everywhere. Why do I feel like it’s only getting worse?"

It's not just the Indy Animal Care Services shelter that can use help, because your local shelter would also welcome volunteer hours, donations of food, bedding, cleaning supplies or money. It's a fantastic way to get involved this summer, and it's a wonderful way to get your kids involved with volunteering as well. Please contact your local Humane Society or animal shelter to find out ways you can help the homeless pets in your community.
