After Kate Gosselin posted a photo on Friday of six of her eight kids going back to school, Jon Gosselin was eager to share a photo of his own — except his featured only their daughter, Hannah.

The former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star is fueling speculation that drama is brewing over the pair’s custody agreement. On Monday, he boasted he was “proud” of his 14-year-old daughter for “starting fresh.” Jon wrote of Hannah’s new beginnings on Instagram, exclaiming, “I Love you very much and we have worked really hard to get here.”

Jon’s post comes days after Kate’s picture of four of their 14-year-old sextuplets — Leah, Alexis, Joel, and Aaden — starting their first day of eighth grade, while 17-year-old twins, Mady and Cara, began their senior year of high school. Hannah was noticeably absent as was her 14-year-old brother, Collin. (He is enrolled full-time in a program for children with special needs.)

Judging from the fact that Hannah is not wearing a uniform, Jon’s photo suggests she will be not be attending the same school as her siblings. He recently proclaimed that Hannah was living with him permanently, although a source close to Kate disputed the statement, saying she still “maintains full custody of all eight of her kids.”

For years, Jon has alleged Kate has kept the children from him — and he alluded to issues between Hannah and his ex-wife. In a 2016 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he recalled a time Hannah “didn’t want to go home [to Kate] for some reason” when he was dropping her off to her mother’s house after a “normal custody day.”

“She just didn’t want to go home. She wasn’t getting out of the car, she just had a fear, and I wasn’t going to discuss it at the end [of the] driveway,” he said. “So Leah went down, Aiden went down and Joel went down [to the gate of Kate’s house], and then I just texted Kate.”

“I’m like, ‘I’m taking Hannah back,'” he continued. “And, of course, she flipped out. So I was like, ‘You know where I live, here’s my address again in case you forgot it. You know you can call me.’ I kept Hannah and she just explained she was really stressed out and all this stuff, so I kept her [at my house] and Kate called the cops and filed a police report against me.”

Jon’s tendency to discuss personal issues with the media has put a strain on his relationship with his twin girls, Mady and Cara.

“He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane,” Mady told People in April. “He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen.”

She added, “He doesn’t even know us. How can he dare to talk about us?”

It’s unclear what Hannah’s relationship is with her siblings and mother.
