Bullets hit a tire on a RAV4 parked nearby on the street.

Monday, the owner of the car examined a hole she said was made by a stray bullet that pierced her tire rim, leaving a flat tire. She said she usually parks her car in front of her house down the street, but there was no other places to park Sunday night.

Another neighbor who lives nearby pointed at the holes made from stray bullets that pierced the aluminum siding of her apartment including one that penetrated the porch near the front door of the apartment and the outer wall near her second-floor window. She lives on the second floor.

She said police found a stray bullet resting on the desk in her daughter’s room.

“That bullet went straight through, hit a stair and it broke a little, and then it went in my daughter’s room,” she said of the bullet. “My daughter was in the bathroom shower. She just came home from work. Thank God.”

The woman said she heard rapid gunfire followed by a revved-up engine leaving the scene.

“I heard rat-tat-tat-tat. I was in the kitchen when it happened,“ she said. “At one point, I think it’s a firecracker because sometimes we have the game (at Polar Park) and there’s a firecracker night. That is very close. And I had to jump from my kitchen. I have a TV on but it was very loud.”

Looking out her window, the woman said, she saw a young woman hobbling down the street, a young man sporting a ponytail motionless on the ground in the adjacent parking lot across the way and another young woman on the ground with a fourth women crouching down beside her.

“There was one girl (on the ground) holding another girl. And there’s a guy laying down right there next to (the parked) truck. Another girl who got shot in her foot was trying to run away,” she said. “It looks like everyone tried to run to survive the bullets.”
