Woman shot at Bronx club after snubbing man who asked for a dance

A 20-year-old woman was shot in the leg at a Bronx after-hours club after she snubbed a man who wanted to dance with her, police said Friday.

The woman was on the packed dance floor of an E. 165th St. club near Hoe Ave. in Longwood about 3 a.m. Monday when a man dressed in a white shirt and white baseball cap moved over to her, cops said.

The man asked for a dance, but she refused and asked him to move on, a police source with knowledge of the case said.

The man in white left, but returned a few minutes later and fired off at least one shot.

A bullet fragmented and hit the woman in the leg as well as her left and right elbows, cops said.

The woman took herself to Jacobi Hospital, where she was treated and released.

The gunman ran off. No arrests have been made.

Cops on Friday released surveillance video of the man they want to question in regards to Monday’s shooting.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
