Weymouth woman, 79, found dead in park. What investigators know so far

BRAINTREE – A 79-year-old Weymouth woman was found dead in the water at Pond Meadow Park on Monday afternoon.

The woman, Mulain Chin, had gone to the park for a walk with a family member, according to Norfolk County district attorney's Office spokesperson David Traub.

Braintree police notified the office around 2:30 p.m. May 6 of the ongoing investigation, Traub said. A State Police detective attached to the DA's office joined Braintree police at the scene.

"Initial information is that when (Chin) did not arrive at an expected location, that family member alerted a Braintree police officer who was in the park," Traub said. "She was discovered in shallow water near a small bridge."
