Wet and breezy end to the week

Rain will move in today as winds pick up. A storm system will move out of the Gulf of Mexico and toward the Carolinas with clouds increasing and rain developing. Rain will become more widespread throughout the afternoon and evening and could be heavy at times. Rain will continue into Saturday, and it will be breezy with winds gusting into the 30s throughout the weekend. The cloudy, wet weather will keep temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. We could see 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain across the area before a cold front pushes the low offshore Saturday night.

Sunshine will return Sunday and temperatures will drop to below average, down to the low to mid-60s. It will still be breezy on Sunday with winds gusting out of the north in the 20s and possibly 30s. The winds will gradually die down Sunday evening and into the overnight. Sunshine will continue into next week, and we will start to warm back up to around average by Tuesday. Our next storm system will move into the Carolinas midweek with another chance for rain.
