Who were the victims of Rockford's fatal mass stabbing? Police release ages

The four people killed Wednesday in a spree of violence on Rockford's southeast side have been identified as a 63-year-old woman, 49-year-old man, 22-year-old man, and a 15-year-old girl.

According to a release from the Rockford Police Department, at around 1:14 p.m., officers responded to multiple addresses in the area of Holmes Street, Winnetka Drive, and Cleveland Avenue and located the four victims, some of whom had been stabbed. Three victims died at the scene. The fourth victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

"There are five additional victims who were transported to local hospitals and are currently being treated for serious injuries," police said in the release.

The lone suspect, a 22-year-old man, was taken into custody about 1:35 p.m., near what's being reported as at least three crime scenes.
