UTEP’s Tac, NM State’s Yaak enter NCAA Transfer Portal

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Borderland saw two more of its college basketball players enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday.
First for the UTEP women’s basketball team, forward Adhel Tac became the fourth Miners player to go in the portal. Tac spent three years with the Miners after transferring in from TCU.
She averaged around 9 points and 5 rebounds per game during an injury-plagued 2023-24 season under Keitha Adams and now will look elsewhere to play her final season of eligibility as a graduate transfer.
At New Mexico State, big man Yaak Yaak became the first men’s basketball player from either NMSU or UTEP to hit the portal.
Yaak played sparingly in 2023-24, his lone season in Las Cruces with Jason Hooten’s Aggies.
