Two charged after shooting near Scranton Preparatory School

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say an argument between two people led to a shooting Monday evening near Scranton Preparatory School.

According to the Scranton Police Department, on Monday around 7:00 p.m., officers were handling an unrelated incident when they heard a man arguing with someone on the 1000 block of Capouse Avenue.

Police said they heard one gunshot and saw a Honda seen leaving the area. Officers began to investigate the scene and found one single casing on the front porch of a home.

Inside the home was Daisy Tozzi, 21, of Tobyhanna, who told police she argued with her ex-boyfriend Abdiel Pagan, 20 of Scranton, and he allegedly punched her in the face. Tozzi eventually admitted to officers that she fired a gun into the air after Pagan was inside a car, as stated in the affidavit.

Tozzi has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of a weapon.

Pagan is charged with simple assault and harassment.
