Two buildings catch fire in West Oakland
(KRON) — Two buildings caught fire in West Oakland on Friday night, the Oakland Fire Department said. One building is a single-family home, and the other is a church.
The fire is at 27th Street and West Street. OFD reported the fire just before 8 p.m. It was brought under control at 8:32 p.m.
Both buildings were vacant when the fire broke out. No injuries have been reported.
OFD said the home is a total loss, but firefighters were able to save some of the church.
St. Andrews Missionary Baptist Church is located at the corner of 27th and West.
OFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
