May 21—TRI-COUNTY — With few contested races on the ballot, turnout was low throughout the region for Tuesday's Primary Election.
With 118 of 120 Kentucky reporting at press time, the statewide turnout was a dismal 10.32% though that shouldn't be surprising given that President Joe Biden and Republican challenger Donald Trump locked up their respective nominations weeks ago.
Congressman Hal Rogers also handily defeated three Republican challengers in the 5th District to extend his streak as the longest-serving legislator in the House of Representatives.
