Traffic closures in downtown Bakersfield for 10th Annual Victim’s Rights March

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Annual Victim’s Rights March is set for Thursday afternoon in downtown Bakersfield and will impact traffic on multiple streets.

According to city officials, Truxtun Avenue and 17th Street will be closed between L and Q streets from noon until 4 p.m. Thursday.

Initially established in 1981 by President Ronald Reagan, National Crime Victim’ Rights Week is a time to honor survivors and victims of crime as well as acknowledging the support system provided by organizations and public servants who continuously pursue justice.

The march will start at 3 p.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. The resource event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
