Three arrested for alleged retail theft at Walmart

HAZLE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report that five women were arrested after being accused of retail thefts at a Walmart in Luzerne County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers responded to Walmart in Hazle Township for separate retail theft incidents throughout April.

On April 9 around 5:30 p.m., troopers say they were called for a reported theft after a 38-year-old man from Drums tried to leave the store with two boxes of baseball cards without paying.

Then on April 11 around 2:30 p.m., PSP said a 20-year-old woman from Hazleton failed to scam items at the self-checkout such as clothing for adults and children.

Lastly, on April 12 a 32-year-old woman from New York tried to steal $46.30 worth of items from Walmart, state police stated.

All three were arrested and charged with retail theft through the district court.
