‘Stranger Things’ home in Albuquerque up for sale

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The hit Netflix TV show, ‘Stranger Things’ was filmed in locations throughout Albuquerque and now one iconic house could be yours, for the right price. A house that served as the home for characters on the show, is going on the market this weekend.
“It’s been a whirlwind and so much fun the whole way,” said homeowner Ryan Asher.
From the TV screen to reality, this Albuquerque home became a Hollywood landmark after being featured in the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. “Of course, it’ll be bittersweet but we’re going to let other people enjoy it,” said Asher.

In the show, the Byers family lived in the house located near Montgomery and Tramway during season four. However, in the real world, it’s owned by Ryan and Karen Asher. The Ashers are putting the home on the market.
They bought the house back in 2021, renting it out as an Airbnb. The Ashers say the house has brought hundreds of fans of the show from all over the world including the Czech Republic, Australia, and China.
“On weekends, it was probably a person every couple three hours knocking on the door and just the excitement, they’re like ‘oh my gosh’ they’re jumping up and down excited,” said Asher.
You can also still find remnants of the production throughout the house, including glass in the air vents from when they were shot out during an action scene.
For the last few years, they’ve spent their time replicating the rooms from the show and adding unique vintage touches. They say potential buyers could purchase the home fully furnished for an acceptable offer.
“It’s just brought a lot of joy to us and a lot of other people and we hope it continues to do so,” said Asher.
