Steelton homicide suspect arrested by U.S. Marshals

STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) – Kier Sims, the suspect in a homicide at the Hideout Lounge in Steelton, has been arrested in York by U.S. Marshals.

According to Steelton Police, Sims was taken into custody on Thursday and is currently being held at the York County Prison on warrants not related to the Steelton homicide.

Sims is facing charges in Dauphin County including criminal homicide for the death of Otilio Lugo-Rivera on March 23.

Officials say Sims allegedly started the altercation at the lounge on North Front Street and attacked Lugo-Rivera by hitting him in the head with “great force.” This caused Lugo-Rivera’s head to hit a wall and he fell to the ground, according to the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.

An autopsy was able to determine that Lugo-Rivera died from blunt force trauma to two sections of the brain, according to a news release.
