St. Ignatius Catholic Parish to break ground on new education building

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The St. Ignatius Catholic Parish community is preparing to break ground on a new Early Learning Center.

According to a release, the groundbreaking is scheduled to begin today, Thursday, May 23, at 4 p.m. Parishioners, parents, and donors are invited to the groundbreaking ceremony at 3650 Spring Hill Avenue, the release said.

GROUNDBREAKING LOCATION:

Church officials said the new Early Learning Center is the second phase of a five-year campaign and comes after the building of a new church.

The learning center is expected to cost $4.5 million to complete, according to the release. Once the ELC is complete, it will be what officials call “a state-of-the-art educational building” to consolidate PreK classrooms into one building.

According to the release, the construction is predicted to be completed by June 2025.
