ShareWell Coffee adds 2nd location in Hendersonville

While ShareWell Coffee owners Candice and Zach Pritz have been gearing up for the third annual Fairy Festival at Horse Shoe Gap Village, set for April 6, they have also been getting something else ready: Their second location, which happens to be in Horse Shoe Gap Village.

Candice Pritz said if asked whether she and her husband would be opening a second location in January, their answer would've been no.

"That really wasn't on our radar as a next step," she said. "But this was an offer presented to us that we simply couldn’t refuse."

Candice Pritz said one of her former baristas, Mei-ling Varnell, was brewing ShareWell's coffee and had consulted Zach Pritz in the beginning when she was purchasing equipment and mapping out her coffee bar, which eventually became Hidden Trails Coffeehouse in Horse Shoe Gap Village at 3630 Brevard Road.

"She had built a tremendous business and customer base, but she was ready for some life changes. She came to us and offered us her business. We received the keys on March 1 and have just been getting our footing," Candice Pritz said.

The other original location of ShareWell Coffee is still in Flat Rock at 2698c Greenville Highway, and Candice Pritz said she's looking forward to seeing how the second location does, especially since it's near the Ecusta Trail.

"We have joined the artisans in Horse Shoe Gap Village, and it's a really sweet spirit with a rich community. It’ll be exciting and interesting to see what kind of traffic comes from our access to the Ecusta Trail, once that is up and running," she said.

Coffee has been a big part of the Pritz couple's life for a long time, Candice Pritz said.

"My husband has worked in coffee since high school. He worked at his brother’s shop in Florida, which is now an impressive roasting business with multiple locations. Zach then became head roaster at Roos Roast when we were married and living in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and fell in love with the process and art of roasting," she said. "We knew we would move back South once we were ready to start a family and so, in 2016 we quit our jobs and bought a roaster. We loaded it up on the moving truck and headed south, back to my home of Hendersonville."

Candice Pritz said she and her husband will be teaming up once again with Varnell for the Fairy Festival, which will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 6. The event will feature a scavenger hunt, crafts and rock painting, as well as some yard games. The coffee bar will be open for service with normal offerings, along with hot dogs and other food and beverages.

"(Mei-ling) has worked some shifts at the coffeehouse and continues to partner with us and share her talents with ShareWell," she said. "She started this festival. I’m looking forward to attending. I mean who doesn’t love a magical, enchanting event, with free face paint?"
